Childlike Dependence

Luke 18:15-17 NIV

15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 17 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

We are told to be like children to enter the kingdom of God. What does this mean? In what way are we to be like children?

Children are solely dependent on others to care for them. They need someone to feed them, to get them dressed, to tell them what to do, and to tell them what is right and wrong. That is how we are supposed to depend on Jesus.

We need scripture to tell us what is right and wrong and how we are to live. We need God's word and guidance to make good choices.

Continuing my focus on on my health, I need to continue to focus on needing Jesus to do what is right and what is best for my health. I need to be childlike. I need to listen to God when it comes to what is right and wrong for my body.

God Gave us food to fuel us. He provided natural foods we need to sustain us and keep us whole and healthy for his purpose.

I know I need to be childlike, listening and being led by God for my health.

The flesh leads to pleasure, self indulgence, and weakness.

These things will not lead me to the true form God intended.
