Beginning Again (By Beth Wade)

How often do we get motivated, encouraged, and do good on our healthy journey for weeks or months, only to lose steam and go back to old ways? And then we get it back again and say, "okay starting over, back to day 1 again…"

It isn’t really starting over, it isn’t really back to day one again. That person you were on that real first day, that person isn’t there anymore. You have already accomplished things you didn’t know you could, your body has already changed and become stronger, your spirit has changed, your mind has changed….You have changed.

So it isn’t day one again.

It is beginning again. You are taking the new you that came out of the work from before and striving forward again. Every hard thing, every stuck place, from every trial we come out a different person, a new person. That is how God works in us and through us. He gives us trials to grow our faith and trust in Him. He makes us new each day we turn to Him and don’t give up.

So today take the new you that came out of yesterday and push forward beginning again today to be a better you.

Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

2 Corinthians 4:16-17 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here.

Ezekiel 11:19 I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them. I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh
